SERVICE AGREEMENT

Billing

You will receive your monthly invoice around the 5th of each month. We are invoicing you for the current month that we are servicing. We charge a flat monthly rate. We do not charge extra for months that have 5 weeks, as many companies do.

Payment Due Dates

As one expects the pool to be serviced each week in a timely manner, we appreciate timely payment. Payments are due by the 20th of the current month for which service is performed. Payments are late if not received 15 days after the due date.

  • Invoice Date: January 5th for January Pool

  • Service Due Date: January 20th

  • Late fee assessed as of: February 5th

A late fee of $20 per month will be applied if complete payment is not received 15 days after the due date. Returned check fee of $35.00 will be applied to all returned checks.

Any extra work will be billed for as soon as it is finished.

For any accounts over 60 days late, we will halt service until the outstanding balance is brought up to date.

If any repairs, installations, or treatments are needed, we will require a 50% down payment prior to starting work with the other half due after completion.

Water Levels

It is the customer’s responsibility to maintain a proper water level in the pool. Low water levels can result in improper filtration, algae, and equipment failure which can be costly to repair. We recommend filling water to the middle of the tile line or skimmer.

Our liability insurance does not cover flooding due to overfill, for this reason we do not add water to pools. If a situation arises where we are needed to add water, a fee may be charged for the time spent adding water.

Replacement Parts

We will replace small parts (under $60) as needed to keep your pool operating properly; these may be skimmer baskets, o’rings, skimmer lids, or pool cleaner parts (bags, wheels, or belts). The old item will be left on your deck or table upon replacement and you will be invoiced on your next monthly invoice. Any repairs or items that are over $60 will not be done without your prior approval.

Filter Cleaning

A filter should be completely disassembled and cleaned at minimum, twice a year. We will automatically bill you for this service on your monthly invoice twice per year. There is an additional fee per cleaning, not including any replacement parts needed. Upon disassembly and inspection, we will replace any small parts (under $60). If several grids need replacing or any large problems need attention we will contact you for approval.

Under certain circumstances, such as wash in’s or construction/landscape work being done it may be necessary to perform this service more than twice a year. This is done to maintain the proper flow of your equipment and provide clear water.

Pool Access

Homeowners are responsible for access to the backyard. You must provide us with a key or combination for any lock on the gate. If we cannot gain access to your backyard that service week will be skipped without credit for that week of service.

We do not remove pool covers unless it is an automatic pool cover. If the cover has not been removed prior to our service we shall treat it as we would a locked gate.

Please be sure to keep entryways and and gates clear for access.

Dogs

If a dangerous dog is present in the backyard at time of service, the homeowner is required to put the dog in a safe place until service is completed. If a dangerous dog cannot be restrained at time of service, that service week will be skipped without any credit for week skipped.

 Service Hiatus

Most pool service companies charge on a weekly basis (52 weeks/year); however, we charge a flat monthly rate. Being there are four months with an extra week, we will not charge for those four extra weeks. Rather than charge for the extra weeks we reserve the right to take up to four weeks off per year for sickness or vacation.  We will notify you if this will occur.

Your pool will be left with enough chemicals to maintain the proper balance. We are always accessible by phone if an emergency arises.

Bad Weather

Sometimes the threat of severe weather conditions may not allow us to provide the same level of service or any service at all. In this rare event, there will be no call or email to inform you of the changes.

 Extra Costs

We do not charge for reasonable amounts of chlorine, tabs, muriatic acid, or water testing reagents. There are additional charges for conditioner, calcium, salt, algaecides, phosphate removers, sodium bicarbonate, and other possibly needed chemicals. If chlorine in excess of 4 gallons is needed on a visit, there will be charges for the additional gallons.

Toys/Safety/Other

We ask that toys be kept out of pools when not in use. Toys often get caught in pool cleaners, drains, and skimmers.

We ask that floaties and rafts are removed prior to service. We do not accept liability for inflatables that may become punctured during our removal.

Trees and bushes should not overhang into or over the pool. We ask that you remind gardeners and landscapers to not blow grass or other trimmings into the pool. We are not responsible for removing debris that has been deliberately allowed into the pool nor are we responsible for the imbalance of pool water due to phosphates or nitrates that are allowed into the pool.

We can recommend pump speeds and run times. At a minimum, the pool water should be allowed to be filtered in whole at least once per day during the warmer months. The minimum industry standard for most pumps are to run at high speed for 8 hours or more. Variable speed pumps being run on slower speeds should often be on for 12 or more hours. If algae blooms due to inadequate water turnover and filtration, there will be additional charges for algae cleanup and treatment.

Service may be discontinued at any time by ABA Pool Service or the client.
